Elliott Ward has left Norwich City to join Nottingham Forest on a two-month loan deal.
Forest manager Sean O'Driscoll, who has lost several defenders through injury, he has revealed that Ward could sign a permanent deal at the City Ground if he impresses during his loan spell at the Championship club.
O'Driscoll told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We are little bit light defensively and Elliott gives us flexibility.
"I had him at Doncaster so know his character. He did really well for me. He has been part of a promotion-winning team at Norwich so has that mentality and knows what it takes in the Championship.
"He has expressed his desire to come when he had one or two other options, but there are no guarantees. He will fit into the group well character-wise, he was available and there is the possibility we could sign him on a permanent basis."
Ward had only made one appearance for Norwich City this season before he made the move to Nottingham.
