Oldham Athletic attacker Jonathan Forte has been named League One's Player of the Month for October.
It was expected that the award would go to Peterborough United's Marcus Maddison, who scored four goals during his five appearances.
However, he has been pipped by Forte following the 28-year-old's five-goal haul in as many outings.
The frontman joined Oldham during the summer following his release by Premier League side Southampton.
MK Dons captain Dean Lewington and Crawley Town's Wales international Gwion Edwards were also in contention for the accolade.
