David Dunn has reportedly held discussions over a move to Oldham Athletic.
The one-capped England international has been a free agent since the end of last season when he decided to leave Blackburn Rovers.
However, he could now return to football with League One side Oldham, according to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
The report adds that Dunn was in attendance for Oldham's pre-season friendly clash against Bolton Wanderers last night.
Bolton and Accrington Stanley have also been credited with an interest in the 35-year-old, who made 377 appearances for Rovers over two spells.
