Oxford United midfielder Michael Collins has claimed that he and his teammates are playing for their futures.
The U's are currently three points above the relegation zone in the League Two table thanks to one win in their last six games.
Collins believes that the squad must start taking more responsibility to help the club get out of trouble, or the consequences could have a big effect on all of their careers.
"If there's anybody sat in the dressing room thinking 'I'll be okay', then the harsh reality of football is you won't be," he told the Oxford Mail.
"We are playing for our futures now and every time you're asked to do a job for this club you have a responsibility to do exactly what you're asked."
Oxford continue their fight for survival this Saturday when they host Exeter City.
