Oxford United have been beaten at home for the second time in four days as they went down 2-0 to League Two promotion rivals Scunthorpe United.
Deon Burton headed Scunthorpe ahead on 11 minutes with his fourth goal in four games.
The former Jamaica international then had the chance to double his side's lead with a penalty just before half time, but Ryan Clarke made a smart save to keep the spot kick out.
Dave Syers did make it 2-0 to Scunthorpe midway through the second half, but Oxford had the chance to set up a dramatic finish when they were awarded a penalty eight minutes from full time.
Deane Smalley stepped up, but goalkeeper Sam Slocombe emulated his opposite number Clarke by pulling off a stunning diving stop.
The results sees Scunthorpe climb to second in the table, while Oxford drop to fifth.
