Parma have lost for the 10th time in Serie A this season courtesy of a 2-0 defeat at home to Empoli.
The visitors took the lead on the stoke of half time when Matias Vecino was played in by Massimo Maccarone to fire a low strike into the far corner.
They scored a second 11 minutes into the second half, as Francesco Tavano latched onto Vecino's ball over the top, before sliding an effort past the keeper.
Maccarone could have put the game beyond doubt moments later, but, after getting in behind the defence, his strike was saved by Alessandro Iacobucci.
Francesco Lodi smashed a free kick against the post for the hosts as they looked for a response, but they were unable to muster a comeback and remain bottom of the table.
