Brighton & Hove Albion are leading Port Vale at half time in their FA Cup fourth-round match.
After a slow start, Jonathan Obika picked up the ball and forced Chris Neal into a decent stop.
Rohan Ince then tried his luck, but his low shot from distance went wide of the post. Ince was booked shortly after, but Brighton began to take control of the match.
First Andrea Orlandi fired the ball wide and then Lewis Dunk also failed to find the target after some smart attacking play.
Vale claimed for a penalty which was not given, before Orlandi chested, turned and shot wide at the other end.
The away side managed to break the deadlock with just under 30 minutes played. Orlandi sent in a corner and Ince poked the ball past Neal.
Vale responded well to going behind and it wasn't long before they were level. Chris Lines delivered from a corner and Chris Robertson found the net with a stooping header.
However, Solly March made it 2-1 two minutes before the break with a first-time lob from Orlandi's corner.
