Port Vale plunged Yeovil Town into the League One relegation zone with a 4-1 win at Vale Park this afternoon.
Tom Pope gave the home side the lead on 18 minutes with his first of afternoon when he converted Mark Marshall's cross with a header.
The striker then doubled the advantage just before the half-hour mark when he reacted quickest to Chris Lines's corner to score from close range.
Marshall almost made it 3-0 towards the end of the half when he won the ball back in midfield before sending a well-struck effort wide of the post.
Less than a minute into the second half, Lines all but secured the points when he slotted home after Pope was tackled as he eyed his third of the afternoon.
Kieffer Moore spurned a good chance to reduce the deficit just before the hour mark when he headed wide from a cross.
Aaron Martin grabbed a consolation for Yeovil with four minutes remaining, but the home side reclaimed their three-goal advantage in stoppage time thanks to Colin Daniel.
