Portuguese champions Porto have revealed that Paulo Fonseca has been appointed as the club's new coach.
Previous coach Vitor Pereira left the club yesterday to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli and Porto have moved swiftly to appoint the outgoing Pacos de Ferreira coach Fonseca to the helm.
"We have reached an agreement with Fonseca, who will become the main team coach," the club confirmed in a statement.
Fonseca said that he was looking forward to continuing the success that Porto have enjoyed in recent years.
"I'm highly motivated to keep Porto's winning streak going," ESPN quotes Fonseca as saying.
"I like balance in my teams and have them dominate possession. That must be a reality at Porto."
Fonseco guided Ferreira to third in the Primeira Liga last season.
