Preston North End boss Simon Grayson has paid tribute to Sir Tom Finney, who died on Friday aged 91.
Finney, who enjoyed a 14-year at Deepdale until his retirement in 1960, was the subject of mass tributes on Twitter earlier on Saturday, with Gary Lineker, Michael Owen and Sepp Blatter among those expressing their sadness over the loss of the former striker.
"It was a great honour to have met him. He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts go out to his family," Grayson told the club's official website.
"Sir Tom was fantastic ambassador for this club. You can see from the comments on a worldwide scale."
The Lilywhites were held to a 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient in Lancashire this afternoon, with Mathieu Baudry's first-half strike cancelled out by Joe Garner's penalty.
