Paris Saint-Germain have clinched a straightforward 3-0 victory over Basel in Wednesday night's Champions League Group A clash at the Parc des Princes.
The visitors began brightly and threatened Unai Emery's side in the opening stages, with Michael Lang smashing a bullet header against the post just six minutes in.
Renato Steffen also tested Alphonse Areola with a ferocious shot inside the box, while Seydou Doumbia nearly scored on no less than two occasions in the opening 15 minutes.
PSG soon found their rhythm and matched their opponents in terms of chances before opening the scoring 40 minutes in through Angel di Maria, who slotted past Tomas Vaclik when one on one.
Basel set about trying to draw level but found themselves two goals down just after the hour mark, Lucas Moura pouncing on a rebound from Edinson Cavani's effort and rattling low inside the right-hand post.
It ultimately proved to be an easy victory for the hosts, who added a third in injury time from the spot through Cavani after Lang brought a PSG player down in the box.
The result means that PSG sit second in Group A, on seven points, while Basel find themselves one place and six points behind the Parisians.
