PSV Eindhoven have edged closer to the Eredivisie title after a hard-fought win over PEC Zwolle.
Zwolle had a good recent record at the Philips Stadion, having picked up a draw and a victory from their last two visits, but the league leaders were in no mood to extend that run after taking an early lead.
That lead came when Luciano Narsingh's low cross from the right flank teed up Georginio Wijnaldum and the captain duly tucked his effort beyond the reach of Jeroen Zoet.
PSV, who will take the Eredivisie crown if they win and Ajax lose this weekend, almost doubled their advantage when Luuk de Jong fired narrowly wide.
Zwolle got back on level terms after Maikel van der Werff scored for the visitors just before half time.
However, the home side quickly restored their lead after Joshua Brenet's thunderous strike from distance proved too much for Zoet.
PSV could have put daylight between the teams when De Jong and Memphis Depay linked up midway through the second period.
Eindhoven were given a late scare when Thomas Lam struck the crossbar for the visitors, but De Jong made sure of victory by adding a third goal in stoppage time.
