New Queens Park Rangers signing Esteban Granero reveals that he has always admired the way that football is played in the Premier League.

Esteban Granero has admitted that he has always be keen to play in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old realised that ambition when he joined Queens Park Rangers from Spanish champions Real Madrid on a four-year contract towards the end of the summer transfer window.

He has since made his debut for the R's, featuring in their 3-1 loss to champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium earlier this month.

Today the midfielder was formally unveiled to the media at a press conference that was attended by Sports Mole.

When asked what he knows about the English top flight, Granero replied: "I've always liked the Premier League. I watched many games and really enjoyed it. I like the kind of football here.

"It's pure and football was born here. The way that they play here in England I like so much. I think this a very good place for me."

During his three-year stint at the Bernabeu, Granero played alongside a number of players that had previously featured in England.

One in particular, former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, helped him make the decision to sign on at Loftus Road.

"I had a lot of teammates who have played in the Premier League," he added. "They all said good things about playing here in England. They all have grown a lot in the Premier League and they told me I was going to be happy here.

"I used to watch Liverpool games because there was a lot of Spanish players playing for them. Also there was Xabi who has played with me for the last three years. He talked to me a lot."

Granero is expected to keep his place in the QPR starting lineup for this weekend's derby encounter against Chelsea.
