Queens Park Rangers striker Heidar Helguson has signed a new contract with the club until 2013.
The 34-year-old's previous deal had been due to expire at the end of this summer but he has been awarded an extra year due to an impressive campaign thus far.
The Icelandic striker is the Hoops top scorer this season, having netted seven times in 12 appearances.
Rangers manager Neil Warnock said: "I fought tooth and nail to keep Heidar here over the summer because I knew he could be a threat for us in the Premier League.
"He has proved time and again what a good player he is.
"He has more than earned this new deal - no-one deserves it more."
Helguson joined Rangers from Bolton Wanderers in 2009.
