Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has insisted that Charlie Austin will recover from last weekend's disappointment against West Ham United.

Austin missed a penalty at Loftus Road as QPR were forced to settle for a frustrating draw in their battle against relegation, but Ramsey claims that he has no worries about how the error affected him.

"Charlie and Rob Green are two of the main reasons we have even got a fighting chance of staying up," the QPR boss told reporters. "So his thing is mentally to recover from that situation and make sure that whatever happens he goes into the game with the same fighting spirit he has had all season.

"I'm sure he felt sorry for it. But the boys rallied round and said to him 'you've done brilliant for us this season.'

"He is a very bubbly character and has a lot of strength and goal scorers do have this way about them. They have an inner confidence that other people don't have and he has been fine."

QPR meet Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
