QPR boss Harry Redknapp slams the club's 'overpaid' players following Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Newcastle United.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has blasted who he believes are the 'overpaid' players at the club following Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Newcastle United.

Shola Ameobi grabbed a late winner at St James' Park to condemn the R's to a 10th defeat of the campaign.

"There are a lot of players at this club who earn far too much money for what they are; far, far, far too much money for their ability and what they give to the club," Redknapp told BBC Sport.

"I don't really want to see the owners have their pants taken down like they have in the past. There's a lot of agents made money out of them."

Redknapp also revealed that Jose Bosingwa has been fined two weeks' wages for refusing to sit on the bench during last weekend's victory over Fulham.

"He didn't want to be on the bench and didn't want to be a substitute, so he went home.

"He has been fined two weeks' wages, £130,000. Not too bad for two weeks, decent isn't it? Not too bad for playing on a Saturday, it's okay."

Saturday's defeat has kept Rangers in 19th place in the Premier League table.
