Harry Redknapp: 'Scoreline flattered Everton'

Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp claims that the 3-1 scoreline flattered Everton in their defeat at Goodison Park.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp claimed that his side deserved more from their 3-1 defeat to Everton on Monday evening.

Ross Barkley, Kevin Mirallas and Steven Naismith scored for the Toffees before Bobby Zamora netted a late consolation at Goodison Park, and the Hoops boss thought that the scoreline flattered the home side.

Redknapp told Sky Sports News: "I thought we played OK today for 35 minutes or whatever and I felt comfortable. They had a few long-range shots and then the first goal was a great bit of play from Barkley, but it took a deflection. And then the free kick too, that took a deflection.

"I said at half time, if we got a goal we were back in it, because I thought the Everton crowd were very edgy tonight. If there was a chance to get a result, it was tonight. I wasn't disappointed with how we played.

"It's not easy when you're 2-0 down, you bring Bobby Zamora on and they go 3-0 up, and that goal really changed everything. I was pleased with the performance. Glenn Hoddle was sitting upstairs and he said he was looking [Everton's] way more tonight. It hasn't been the case this season."

The defeat leaves Rangers in the Premier League's drop zone and pointless on the road this season.
