Queens Park Rangers secure a dramatic late 2-2 draw with Brentford in Monday night's West London derby.

Queens Park Rangers scored twice in injury time to secure a 2-2 draw with West London rivals Brentford at Loftus Road on Monday night.

Ian Holloway's side had lost three Championship games on the trot, but the point has moved them up to 16th in the table, while Brentford sit 10th.

Alex Smithies was called upon in the early stages of the clash as he denied Sergi Canos from sending a curling shot into the back of the net following a neat one-two.

At the other end, Idrissa Sylla cut inside and delivered a low cross into the danger area to find Jamie Mackie, whose attempt at goal soared over the crossbar.

Yoann Barbet came close to giving Brentford the breakthrough from a free kick in the first half, but his effort dipped inches over the top of the goal.

At the other end, Conor Washington hit a 20-yard volley but it did little to trouble Daniel Bentley, who comfortably caught the ball as it was aimed directly at him.

After the break, QPR came out fighting as Sylla hit the woodwork after Josh Scowen headed into the box, but Brentford also went on the attack as Ollie Watkins tried to make the most of Jordan Cousins's slip.

The Brentford man was unable to do so, though, as his shot nestled into the side-netting, but just two minutes later the Bees were celebrating a goal when Lasse Vibe's low strike made it through.

The visitors almost doubled their lead immediately when Barbet sent the ball forward for Nico Yennaris, whose first-time volley skied over the bar.

Both teams had penalty shouts denied in quick succession, with Andreas Bjelland and John Egan getting away with handballs in the box.

Vibe starred again for Brentford as he nabbed his second of the night by sending the ball home from a Romaine Sawyers cross, but QPR launched a late revival as Matt Smith headed into the back of the net from a corner.

The crucial goal came in the 94th minute when Luke Freeman poked the ball past the goalkeeper from close range, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.
