Rangers have progressed in the Scottish League Cup after edging out Inverness Caledonian Thistle by a 1-0 scoreline at Ibrox.
Rangers dominated the opening 30 minutes against their Scottish Premiership opponents, but apart from a Kris Boyd effort that was easily saved, they struggled to create a clear opportunity against the visitors.
Inverness had done well to soak up the pressure offered by the home side, but chances were at a premium for them too, with Marley Watkins wasting one of their few openings of the first 45 minutes.
The second period began with Rangers on the front foot but Lewis Macleod and Nicky Clark were both unsuccessful with shots from distance.
The Glasgow giants continued to control proceedings and with 12 minutes remaining, they took the lead when Nicky Law's cross ended up at the feet of Macleod, who witnessed his long-range shot take a deflection before finding its way into the net.
