Rayo Vallecano have secured their first La Liga victory in four games with a 2-1 win at Getafe this afternoon.
Getafe opened the scoring after just three minutes, when Alvaro Vasquez dispatched a free kick following a clumsy foul by Raul Baena.
The visitors pushed for an equaliser immediately and almost found it through Leo Baptistao in the 16th minute, but his header flew just over the crossbar.
Alex Moreno picked out Baptistao in the area with a cross shortly after, but the Brazilian striker headed over the bar once more.
Vallecano made it 1-1 six minutes before the break when another Moreno cross fell for Jozabed Sanchez, whose powerful drive from outside the area beat Vicente Guaita.
Getafe struggled to break down a disciplined Vallecano after the break, with Mehdi Lacen's cross in the 60th minute providing their first threat of the second half.
The visitors took the lead four minutes later through Baena. Gael Kakuta broke into space and squared the ball for the midfielder, who converted from close range.
Getafe thought they had equalised 10 minutes later, but Juan Rodriguez's powerful header was kept out by Tono in the Vallecano goal.
Alexis had the final equalising chance of the match, but his shot on goal was saved by Tono with two minutes left on the clock.
