Brian McDermott has denied speculation that he held discussions with Wolverhampton Wanderers prior to agreeing a new contract at Reading.
The 50-year-old put pen to paper on a new three-year deal at the Madejski Stadium earlier today.
However, recent reports have suggested that he spoke to Wolves regarding the managerial vacancy, something that he has rubbished.
"I didn't speak to Wolves," he told Sky Sports News. "Wolves are a fantastic club with real good people running that club.
"They've got a really good team. I know Kevin Doyle and Stephen Hunt really well.
"For me it's about the club that I've got here. The fans that we've got, they've been really, really good for me. It's a good day for me."
McDermott took charge of Reading in 2009.
