Reading have expressed an interest in signing Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow, according to reports.
The 26-year-old was signed by the Magpies from Nottingham Forest in 2014 and made 34 Championship appearances last season as they clinched promotion back to the Premier League.
However, it is claimed by The Mirror that Rafael Benitez wants to bring in a new goalkeeper this summer, which would shift Darlow out of first-team contention.
The report goes on to suggest that Reading, who face losing Ali Al-Habsi to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal, have Darlow in their sights as they look to challenge for promotion in 2017-18.
Newcastle have been linked with moves for Joe Hart, Pepe Reina and Orestis Karnezis during this summer's transfer window.
