Reading will reportedly attempt to lure Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu to the Madejski Stadium for their first season back in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old, who has two years left on his current deal, is believed to be a target for the Royals but it is understood that Reading will only pounce for Yakubu if Blackburn are relegated to the Championship, according to Goal.com.
The Nigeria international is thought to be open to a transfer if Steve Kean's side fail to ensure league survival with three games left to play.
Yakubu has been at Ewood Park since he moved from Everton last year.
