Real Madrid defender Nacho has conceded that his winning goal in Tuesday's Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain was fortunate.
The centre-back proved the match-winner in the Group A fixture when his effort from a wide angle finished in the bottom corner.
Nacho has hinted that he was actually trying to cross the ball, but it bounced past PSG goalkeeper Kevin Trapp and into the back of the net.
"I saw the ball going in the air and I could also see the goalkeeper. I saw that he had made a mistake but to be honest I didn't want to put the ball there," AS quotes Nacho as saying.
"The only thing I saw was the goalkeeper. I didn't know if there were any forwards [to cross to] or not. And with a bit of luck it's gone in.
"At first I thought the ball was going wide but when it hit the grass I knew it was going in. The goal gives me confidence for these kinds of games."
Nacho entered the match in the first period as a substitute for the injured Marcelo.
