Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their Copa del Rey clash with Arandina.
Sports Mole

Real Madrid will be aiming to make it five straight wins in all competitions when they take on Arandina in the Copa del Rey on Saturday evening.

Carlo Ancelotti's side recorded a 1-0 win over Mallorca on their return to action after the winter break, with the result leaving them top of the La Liga table on 48 points.

Los Blancos are the holders of the Copa del Rey, beating Osasuna in last year's final, and they will be the overwhelming favourites to progress to the round of 16 this weekend.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Arandina, who operate in the fourth tier of Spanish football.

Eder Militao

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Militao underwent surgery on the serious knee injury that he suffered in the team's season opener, and the defender will be unavailable for selection for at least another three months.

Thibaut Courtois

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Courtois also underwent an operation on an ACL injury earlier this season, and the club's number one is currently stepping up his rehabilitation ahead of a potential return before the end of the campaign.

David Alaba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Alaba also suffered an ACL injury against Villarreal on December 17, and the Austria international will miss the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign, but Ancelotti has confirmed that a new centre-back will not arrive in January as a replacement.

Toni Kroos

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: January 10 (vs. Atletico)

Real Madrid will be without the services of Kroos for this contest, with the experienced midfielder absent due to a knock that he picked up against Mallorca.

Ferland Mendy

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: January 10 (vs. Atletico)

Real Madrid will again be without Mendy, with the defender missing out against Alaves before the winter break and the clash with Mallorca last time out due to a muscular problem.

Lucas Vazquez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Real Madrid will be missing back-up right-back Vazquez for at least the next three weeks due to a hamstring problem.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Real Madrid have no players suspended for this match and will be boosted by the return of Nacho, who was absent against Mallorca due to a La Liga suspension.
