Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their Copa del Rey quarter-final clash with Atletico Madrid on Thursday.

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will do battle at the Santiago Bernabeu in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey on Thursday evening.

Los Blancos came from two goals down to beat Villarreal 3-2 away from home in the last 16 last week courtesy of second-half strikes from Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao and Dani Ceballos, the latter netting an 86th-minute winner.

Carlo Ancelotti's men are now hoping to progress from the quarter-final stage, where they were eliminated by Athletic Bilbao last season, as they bid to go all the way and win the Copa del Rey for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

Ahead of the latest instalment of the Madrid derby against Diego Simeone's side, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news.

Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: January 29 (vs. Real Sociedad)

Dani Carvajal was unable to play in either of Real Madrid's last two matches against Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao after sustaining a muscle injury, and the right-back remains unavailable for selection.

Eden Hazard picked up a minor ankle problem in training prior to Real Madrid's win over Athletic Bilbao and the winger remains sidelined for Thursday's contest.

Lucas Vazquez sprained his ankle in the semi-finals of the Spanish Super Cup against Valencia earlier this month and the versatile wideman is expected to remain sidelined for the next few weeks.
