Barcelona will be aiming to open up a six-point lead at the top of the La Liga table when they travel to Real Madrid in El Clasico on Saturday night.

The Catalan giants have made an impressive start to the 2024-25 season, picking up 27 points from their opening 10 league matches, which has left them at the top of the division, three points clear of second-placed Los Blancos.

Hansi Flick's side beat Sevilla 5-1 in the league last weekend, before recording a 4-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night, so the visitors will enter this match full of confidence.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Real Madrid, who were 5-2 winners over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Ronald Araujo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Araujo will again miss out for Barcelona this weekend, but the centre-back has revealed that he is making excellent progress in his recovery from a hamstring operation, with his return set to come before the end of November.

Andreas Christensen

Status: Out
Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: November 6 (vs. Red Star Belgrade)

Christensen remains on the treatment table with an Achilles problem, but the Denmark international is said to be in the latter stages of his recovery, with a return to action potentially occurring before the November international break.

Marc Bernal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Bernal suffered an ACL injury against Rayo Vallecano in the league earlier this term, and he is out for the season.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Barcelona will be missing their number one goalkeeper Ter Stegen for the remainder of the season due to the serious knee injury that he suffered in the recent clash with Villarreal.

Ferran Torres

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Barcelona will be without the services of versatile forward Torres for the next six weeks or so due to the thigh problem that he suffered during his side's clash with Alaves before the October international break.

Eric Garcia

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: October 26 (vs. Real Madrid)

Barcelona have been without Garcia for their last two matches due to a muscular problem, and it remains to be seen whether the defender recovers in time for El Clasico.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Barcelona have no players suspended for the La Liga clash.
