Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu has revealed his delight after scoring the opener in his side's 2-1 win over Real Madrid on Sunday.
The Frenchman headed a Lionel Messi free kick into the bottom corner to send Barca ahead in El Clasico, but he has admitted that the three points are more important than his own personal glory.
"What's most important to me are the three points. Even more than the goal. We leave Madrid four points back and that makes it a good night," he told Canal+. "My goal? We worked on this play in training. I'm very satisfied. I'm very happy."
Mathieu, who joined Barca from Valencia in the summer, started alongside Gerard Pique at centre-back in the La Liga clash.
