Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Super Cup final with Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid will take on capital rivals Atletico Madrid in the final of the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday night after both clubs came through their respective semi-final ties.

Los Blancos recorded a 3-1 victory over Valencia on Wednesday to progress to the final, and Atletico were confirmed as Zinedine Zidane side's opponents on Thursday courtesy of a 3-2 win over Barcelona.

The two teams played out a goalless draw in La Liga earlier this season, but this will be their first meeting in the Spanish Super Cup since August 2014.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of this weekend's showpiece final in Saudi Arabia.

Marco Asensio

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Marco Asensio faces a battle to play again this season after suffering a serious knee injury during the team's preparations for the 2019-20 campaign. A timeframe on his return has not yet been set by the club.

Gareth Bale

Status: Out
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: January 18 (vs. Sevilla)

Gareth Bale will not be involved in Sunday's Super Cup final due to illness. The Wales international missed the clash with Valencia due to a chest infection and will also be absent for the Madrid derby.

Eden Hazard

Status: Out
Type of injury: Fractured ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Eden Hazard has been on the sidelines since the end of November due to a fractured ankle. The 29-year-old is allegedly making solid progress in his recovery from the issue, but a clear return date has not yet been provided.

Karim Benzema

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: January 12 (vs. Atletico)

Karim Benzema missed the victory over Valencia due to a hamstring problem, meaning that Luka Jovic was handed the chance to feature in the final third of the field. The France international has not been officially ruled out of the final but remains a big doubt.

Madrid have no players suspended for the Super Cup final.
