Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's La Liga clash with Villarreal.

Real Madrid are one victory away from being crowned La Liga champions for the first time since 2017 as they prepare for Thursday's visit of Villarreal.

Los Blancos have won nine league games in a row and can secure top spot even if they taste defeat in midweek, with Barcelona needing to win both of their remaining fixtures.

The most recent of Madrid's victories came against Granada on Monday evening, with Ferland Mendy and Karim Benzema on target early on in the 2-1 away win.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Villarreal, who are flying high in fifth place.

Marcelo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Adductor
Possible return date: August 7 (vs. Man City)

Marcelo will miss Madrid's final two La Liga matches of the season with an adductor injury, but it is understood that the Brazilian could be back to face Manchester City in the Champions League next month.

Nacho

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: July 16 (vs. Villarreal)

Madrid revealed last month that versatile defender Nacho had picked up a thigh injury during a training session. The capital giants did not mention a timeframe when they confirmed the Spaniard's problem, although he is back in training and has an outside chance of featuring on Thursday.

Luka Jovic

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: July 16 (vs. Villarreal)

Luka Jovic has struggled for form and fitness throughout a disappointing debut campaign with Madrid. The Serbian striker recently recovered from an ankle injury but has been absent from Los Blancos' squad for their last two games.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Madrid have no suspension issues ahead of Thursday's clash with Villarreal, with Dani Carvajal and Sergio Ramos recently returning from short bans.
