Real Madrid are reportedly 'not concerned' by the injuries to Aurelien Tchouameni and Ferland Mendy, with the pair both expected to be fit to tackle Real Sociedad after the international break.
Mendy withdrew from the France squad due to a tibia issue, which he suffered during Real Madrid's league contest with Real Betis on Sunday night.
It was then revealed that Tchouameni would also not feature in France's upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Italy and Belgium due to a foot issue.
However, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Los Blancos staff are expecting both players to be available for the team's next match, which comes on September 14 against Real Sociedad.
Their withdrawals are believed to be precautionary, with Real Madrid likely to have the pair fit the trip to Real Sociedad, where the reigning champions will be looking to make it back-to-back successes in Spain's top flight.
Tchouameni, Mendy 'expected' to be fit to face Real Sociedad
Mendy has again been Real Madrid's first-choice left-back in the early stages of the season, while Tchouameni has been operating at the base of the midfield.
Real Madrid are currently without the services of David Alaba, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Ceballos through injury, with the latter picking up a serious ankle injury against Real Betis.
Ceballos is likely to be out of action for the next three months, so a long-term issue for Tchouameni would have left Real Madrid seriously short of options in the middle of midfield.
That said, both Bellingham and Camavinga are expected to return soon after the international break.
A return date for Alaba has not yet been set, with the Austria international still recovering from the ACL injury that he suffered last December, but he has recently started running.
How have Real Madrid started the season?
Real Madrid lifted the UEFA Super Cup in the middle of August courtesy of a 2-0 success over Atalanta BC, but they have found it difficult to find their groove in the early stages of the new La Liga campaign.
Los Blancos opened their season with a 1-1 draw against Mallorca, before beating Real Valladolid 3-0 in their first home fixture of the 2024-25 campaign.
Real Madrid drew 1-1 with Las Palmas in their third game of the season, before recording a 2-0 victory over Real Betis last time out, with a total of eight points from four games leaving them second in the table, four points behind the leaders Barcelona. body check tags ::
