Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has revealed that Dani Carvajal is in the latter stages of his recovery from a heart problem.
Earlier this month, Los Blancos announced that Carvajal had been diagnosed with "a viral pericardium infection", which is a condition affecting the membrane enclosing the heart.
The Spain international has not featured since, and it had initially been feared that he could be on the sidelines until 2018. Zidane, however, has confirmed that Carvajal is making good progress as he closes in on a return to first-team action.
"Dani is doing well and the result of the tests is good news," Zidane told reporters. "He has been cycling today and whilst he is healthy there is a recovery process he must go through and we will and see how that goes."
Carvajal, 25, recently signed a new long-term contract with the European and Spanish champions.
