Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed any suggestions that Cristiano Ronaldo could be set for an extended spell out of action with an apparent back injury.
Ronaldo picked up the injury in Tuesday's Spanish Super Cup, and was replaced by James Rodriguez at the halfway stage of the 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid inside the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, Ancelotti was quick to claim that the problem is not as serious as some may have initially feared ahead of the second leg on Friday.
"Cristiano had strain and was not comfortable. Tests tomorrow. At first it does not seem so serious," the Italian told reporters.
Real will follow their second meeting with Atletico by beginning their La Liga campaign against Cordoba on Monday night.
