The CBF are reportedly still confident of making Carlo Ancelotti the next Brazil manager despite speculation that he may remain at Real Madrid.

The CBF are reportedly still confident that Carlo Ancelotti will eventually become the next manager of Brazil.

Ancelotti has always been insistent that he will see out his three-year contract at the Bernabeu, one that expires at the end of the season.

That is despite constant talk that there is interest in becoming the new boss of Brazil, with the 64-year-old having never managed on the international scene.

However, Brazil have reached a point where they ideally require some certainties over their chief position in the dugout, a consequence of their recent poor form.

With interim boss Fernando Diniz in charge, Brazil have failed to win any of their last four 2026 World Cup qualifiers, their latest defeat coming at home to arch rivals Argentina earlier this week.

As a result of the extra qualification places that are on offer for the next World Cup, Brazil are not in any immediate danger of missing out on a spot in that tournament.

Nevertheless, with no game until March, the CBF will be keen to make progress in their search for a full-time boss, something which has not been helped by rumpurs that have started to emerge in Spain.

Reports in the country have indicated that Ancelotti may be tempted into renewing his contract with Real Madrid, with Los Blancos looking to regain their La Liga and Champions League crowns during 2023-24.

According to GOAL, there is no concern behind the scenes at the CBF, who feel that Ancelotti will still arrive in May or June of next year.

That is said to be an opinion held by Ednaldo Rodrigues - president of the CBF - and that there are currently no plans to identify potential alternatives to the legendary Italian.

The report also adds that Diniz, who shares the role with his responsibilities as Fluminense manager, is still in line to take charge of the friendly internationals against England and Spain in March.

From Real Madrid's perspective, it has recently been claimed that they were looking at potential replacements for Ancelotti, with Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Roberto De Zerbi said to be high up on their shortlist.

With no developments expected in the short term, Ancelotti will be focused on delivering three points when Real face Cadiz on Sunday, aware that victory will take them back to the top of the La Liga table with Girona not playing until Monday. body check tags ::
