Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has insisted that he is "ready" to go head to head with Atletico Madrid's Juanfran for the right-back berth in the Spanish national team.
Juanfran currently holds the position in Vicente del Bosque's first-choice XI, but Carvajal is expected to be given the chance to make his mark in Tuesday's international friendly against the Netherlands.
"Juanfran is a magnificent player and it means I've got a great challenge to force my way into this side," Carvajal told reporters. "Nonetheless, I'm ready to play and produce the best performance possible."
Spain will enter Tuesday's match off the back of a 1-0 victory over Ukraine in their Group C Euro 2016 qualifier.
