Real Madrid's Angel Di Maria faces four weeks on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury in their 7-1 win over Osasuna on Saturday.
The Argentinian winger provided first-half assists for Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe and Gonzalo Higuain as Madrid romped to victory but pulled up minutes after the interval and was forced off.
Tests carried out since have revealed the 23-year-old is facing a month's layoff, meaning he will miss Argentina's World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Colombia.
However, Di Maria has targeted a return to Jose Mourinho's side in time for their El Classico fixture against Barcelona on December 11.
Di Maria joined the Spanish giants from Benfica in June 2010 for a fee reported to be in the region of €25m. (£21.4m).
