Jose Mourinho has said that Real Betis were unfortunate not to come away with more after Real Madrid edged out the Seville club 3-2 yesterday evening.
Two goals from talisman Cristiano Ronaldo helped Madrid to their 23rd league victory of the season and put them 13 points clear of Barcelona at La Liga's summit.
However, Mourinho feels the result could have gone a lot differently and applauded the efforts of the home side.
"It is a pleasure to play here," the Portuguese coach told Madrid's official website. "I'm more than happy with the three points, but Betis deserved more. We gave our all.
"There was no control and we never knew who would win.
"A draw would have been a fairer result. Betis are a great example of a side that doesn't play to win titles, but rather to put on a show and thrill their fans with games like these."
Mourinho was also managing his 100th game in charge of Los Blancos.
