Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a return to Real Madrid, with the Portuguese maintaining a strong relationship with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez from his time at the club.
Mourinho has been without a position since being sacked by Manchester United in the latter stages of 2018.
According to AS, the former Porto head coach has elected not to take over a club thus far as he is waiting to see what happens with Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu.
Madrid have made a positive start to the new La Liga campaign, collecting four points from their two matches. That said, the capital giants did drop points at home to Real Valladolid on Saturday night.
The club's failure to secure a deal for Manchester United's Paul Pogba is said to be angered Zidane, meanwhile, with the Frenchman reportedly already considering his future despite only just returning for a second spell in charge.
Mourinho, who led Madrid to the 2011-12 La Liga title, has been working as a pundit since leaving United last year.
