Keylor Navas has paid tribute to his "incredible" Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo following his five-goal display in Saturday's 6-0 thumping at Espanyol.
The Portuguese was one shy of an unprecedented double hat-trick, scoring three in a first-half drubbing before adding two more after the break.
In doing so, the 30-year-old became Real's all-time leading goalscorer in the Primera Liga, taking his total to 230, and Navas says that Ronaldo is peerless in the modern game.
"He's incredible. We all know full well that he's the best player in the world and we're delighted to have him on our team," the Costa Rican goalkeeper told reporters.
"When the goals come quickly it fills you with confidence and that helps the team control games better."
Madrid, who have won two and drawn one in their first three Liga outings, sit second in the table, two points behind Barcelona.
