Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly started to consider making a move for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain.
It is believed that Wenger's number one target to bolster his goalscoring options is Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetic.
However, recent speculation has suggested that the Gunners are unwilling to meet the Italian club's asking price for the 23-year-old.
That has prompted Wenger to seek alternatives and the Frenchman has identified Argentine international Higuain as a potential target, according to the London Evening Standard.
It is thought that the 25-year-old would command a fee of around £19m.
