Marco Asensio has admitted that he 'does not know' whether he will be staying at Real Madrid this summer.

The Spain international's contract with the European and Spanish champions is due to expire at the end of June, and there is currently widespread speculation surrounding his future.

The 27-year-old has been a regular for Los Blancos during the 2022-23 campaign, featuring on 45 occasions in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and registering eight assists in the process.

Asensio was a late substitute in Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday evening, and after the match, the Spaniard was asked about his future.

When asked whether he would be signing a new deal with Carlo Ancelotti's side, the versatile attacker admitted that he could not give a firm answer either way.

"I don't know," he told Carrusel following the contest with Jagoba Arrasate's team.

A number of Italian clubs are believed to be interested in the attacker, while a host of Premier League sides are said to be keeping a close eye on his situation in Madrid.

Last month, Real Madrid head coach Ancelotti said that he was hopeful of keeping hold of the forward.

Asensio is not a guaranteed starter for the club, though, with Rodrygo and Federico Valverde both ahead of him in the pecking order when it comes to the spot on the right of a front three.

The Spaniard recently expressed his happiness at Bernabeu, having been given more opportunities in the second half of the campaign.

Asensio has featured on 27 occasions in La Liga during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring eight goals and registering six assists in the process.

The attacker has also played 10 times in the Champions League, contributing three goals and one assist, with Real Madrid preparing to face Manchester City in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Asensio has now featured on 280 occasions for Real Madrid in all competitions, contributing 60 goals and 32 assists in the process.

The forward has won three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and three Champions League crowns during a hugely successful period in the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid are preparing to welcome Man City to Bernabeu for the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, with the contest taking place on Tuesday night. body check tags ::
