Wales manager Ryan Giggs has expressed his belief that Gareth Bale is still happy at Real Madrid, despite seeing his playing time limited this season.
Bale was once again a notable omission from Zinedine Zidane's starting lineup for yesterday's Champions League final in Kiev, but came off the bench to score twice and fire Madrid to victory.
The 28-year-old poured doubt over his Madrid future after the game by claiming that he needs to be playing every week, but Giggs believes that his preferred choice would be to stay at the Bernabeu.
"I've always maintained he looks happy at Real Madrid. It's a great club and a successful one. It's Gareth's choice," Giggs told reporters.
"He's made the difference in a Champions League final - whether that has any bearing, I don't know. We'll just have to wait and see."
Bale's contract at Madrid does not expire until 2022.
