Kyle Beckerman scored a brace as Real Salt Lake cruised to a 4-0 victory over Columbus Crew in their MLS clash tonight.
Salt Lake put early pressure on the Crew goal but struggled to find a breakthrough in the opening 45 minutes.
However, on the stroke of half-time they took the lead when Javier Morales's free kick struck Beckerman and found its way into the net, wrong-footing keeper Matt Lampson.
After the break, Real upped the ante and doubled their lead through Devon Sandoval as he tapped home Olmes Garcia's cross from close range.
It was three soon after as Ned Grabavoy and Luis Gil combined as the the latter coasted through the Crew defence before he fired an effort past Lampson in the 82nd minute.
While, Beckerman sealed the win in style as he drilled a shot past Lampson first time from 12 yards out. Matters got worse for Columbus as Federico Higuain saw red in stoppage time on a miserable night for the Crew.
