Under-fire Real Sociedad coach David Moyes is on the verge of being sacked, according to Guillem Balague.
Sociedad's season took another turn for the worst on Friday when Moyes's side lost 2-0 at newly-promoted Las Palmas to sit 16th in La Liga, outside the relegation zone on goal difference.
The 52-year-old, who said that he was confident of turning it around, is due back in San Sebastian on Monday following a delayed flight, and the Spanish journalist says that bad news is awaiting him.
"When he gets there, he will meet the board of directors and certainly the chairman, and he will be sacked," Balague told Sky Sports News. "That is something that perhaps he will not expect because this morning he said he was prepared to fight for his position and thought he had enough arguments to be able to help the team keep performing.
"And actually he has been 38 games in charge, which is more or less a full season, and won 46 points, which is not terrible and certainly not a sacking offence.
"But the problem is the expectations. When you bring someone like David Moyes to Real Sociedad, they expect them to do much more than 29% win percentage."
The former Everton and Manchester United boss has spent almost precisely a year at La Real, having replaced Jagoba Arrasate on November 10 of last year.
