A dramatic late turnaround at the top of the Eastern Conference has seen the New York Red Bulls stun Real Salt Lake with a 4-3 win.
The Red Bulls took an early lead in the topsy-turvy clash, with Tim Cahill meeting Thierry Henry's cross to head home after 10 minutes.
They went further ahead soon after from the penalty spot, courtesy of a cheeky effort down the middle from Fabian Espindola.
Just before the break the referee evened things up by awarding Salt Lake a spot kick of their own, which Alvaro Saborio coolly converted.
With 15 minutes left Saborio stunned the Red Bull Arena, scoring twice in quick succession to complete a stunning hat-trick and put Salt Lake ahead.
The Red Bulls threw caution to the wind in search of an equaliser and got their reward when a third penalty of the match was awarded on 89 minutes.
Espindola stepped up again and duly dispatched a composed effort from the spot, but there was still more drama to come deep into stoppage time.
In the fourth minute of added time the Red Bulls found a winner through Dax McCarty, who headed home Brandon Barklage's cross to spark wild celebrations from the fans and the players alike.
