Rennes have moved out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 win over Lille in Ligue 1 this evening.
The visitors looked most likely to break the deadlock in the opening 45 minutes through Dimitri Payet, who came close on four occasions, including hitting the post in the 37th minute.
It was the home side who took the lead, however, as Julien Feret found the back of the net to make it 1-0.
This lead was doubled just 10 minutes later when Romain Alessandrini provided a smart finish to give his side a two-goal cushion.
Lille tried to fight back through Florent Balmont's effort, but that was saved as Rennes held on to move level on points with tonight's opponents.
