Malaga have continued their 100% start to life in the Champions League with an impressive victory over AC Milan.
The home side started strongly and dominated possession in the early stages, forcing Milan to play on the counter.
Malaga wasted a golden opportunity to take the lead towards the end of the first half from the penalty spot when Joaquin Sanchez crashed the ball against the crossbar.
Joaquin atoned for his error early in the second half when he latched on to a lofted through ball from Manuel Iturra and guided the ball in off the post.
Milan introduced Alexandre Pato to try to produce a response in the closing stages but the Brazilian striker was unable to lead a fightback.
Manuel Pellegrini has now led Malaga to three successive victories in this year's competition to put Malaga firmly in control in Group C and heap further pressure on Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri.
