Rochdale recorded a comfortable 2-0 win at Blackpool this afternoon, thanks to goals from Donal McDermott and Ian Henderson.
The first chance of the match fell to Rochdale striker Henderson, who produced a curling effort that was stopped by a finger-tip Kyle Letheren save.
Rochdale continued to dominate the first half, as a Joe Bunney strike hit the side-netting, before McDermott twice came close to opening the scoring.
Blackpool's almost broke the deadlock before the break through Mark Cullen, whose strike was saved by Josh Lillis.
After half time, it was Rochdale who were creating the bulk of the game's opportunities. A Bunney strike forced a save from Letheren, before McDermott broke the deadlock on 58 minutes after beating the offside trap to produce a powerful finish.
David Ferguson had an opportunity to equalise for the hosts soon after, but his strike went well over the bar.
The Dale almost doubled their lead through Peter Vincenti on 72 minutes, but his effort was cleared off the line by Henry Cameron.
Brad Potts came close to scoring for the hosts on 80 minutes, but his header went wide of the post.
Despite late pressure from the hosts, the away side wrapped up the victory on 87 minutes through Henderson, who finished from close range.
