Roma have failed to close the gap on Serie A leaders Juventus after being held to a goalless draw by Inter Milan at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Gervinho came close to firing Roma ahead with six minutes played, but the forward's volley from a Daniele De Rossi long ball was well handled by Samir Handanovic.
The hosts had another half-chance moments later as Adem Ljajic was picked out, before taking on Jonathan and firing a low cross into the box, but it failed to be met by any of his teammates.
The Giallorossi appeared to have taken the lead after 33 minutes when Mattia Destro steered a Radja Nainggolan cross onto the post with the ball bouncing into the back of the net off Handanovic, but the striker was ruled offside.
Nainggolan attempted to bend a shot into the top corner following the restart, but his strike from 25 yards failed to test the keeper.
The lively Belgian found Miralem Pjanic in space shortly after, with the Bosnian firing a shot away at goal, only for Handanovic to match the effort and keep the score level.
Both sides pushed to find a winner, but in the end it finished goalless in Rome.
