Lewis Buxton 'enjoying' life at Rotherham United

Lewis Buxton admits that it is a "relief" to be fit and playing regular football after swapping Sheffield Wednesday for Rotherham United this summer.

Rotherham United defender Lewis Buxton has revealed that he is determined to get his career "back on track" after overcoming his pre-season injury setback.

The 31-year-old joined the Millers from nearby rivals Sheffield Wednesday earlier this summer, but had to remain patient on his return from injury.

Buxton has featured in all five of Rotherham's games to date this campaign, though, and is now looking to consolidate the Yorkshire outfit's place in the second tier.

"The main thing for me was to play Championship football and stay in the league," he told the club's official website. "I missed a bit of pre-season so I was happy to get some minutes under my belt and I have enjoyed the games.

"It was a bit frustrating, so it's a relief to be fit. Rotherham is a positive club, where everyone works hard and in some ways I wanted to get my career back on track as I haven't played as many games as I'd have liked in the last few years.

"Every year the Championship seems to get tougher and tougher so the main thing is to concentrate on staying in the league and build on that year after year."

Rotherham are currently bottom of the Championship table, with just one point from their opening four league fixtures.
